Mason Cash originated in a pottery operating at Church Gresley in the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. The pottery became world renowned for producing kitchen items made from their distinct ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware. The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was William ‘Bossy’ Mason. During the 1800s the pottery was named after him, and when Tom Cash acquired it in 1901, he renamed it Mason Cash & Co. Although Mason Cash had produced mixing bowls during the 1800s, in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash Mixing Bowl. The bowl’s design has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today.

First developed in 1901, Mason Cash Mixing Bowls are made from high quality, chip-resistant earthenware making them heavy enough to stand when mixing, yet light enough to hold comfortably in one arm. The distinct patterned exterior and rim of the bowl is designed to help bakers grip and tip the bowl and has become synonymous with the brand and baking ever since. The wide, shallow shape also allows for kneading within the bowl if required. Great British Design Icon.

The bowls are as relevant today as they were in 1901 and have endured the test of time to become something of a design classic.

O r i g i n a l C a n e Mixing Bowls

The sizes of Mason Cash Mixing Bowls were used historically to refer to how many can fit on a shelf in a kiln when manufacturing. There’s a bowl size to suit any task. The Size 4 is designed for large batches of dough, whereas a Size 36 is designed for mixing sauces or storing ingredients. The Size 12 is a good all-rounder for bread, pastry, cookie or cake mixes.

K e y D e s i g n F e a t u r e s A pudding must be sealed before steaming. The rim of the Mason Cash Pudding Basin is shaped for this purpose. The vented base of the pudding basin allows bubbles to escape from underneath the basin, preventing it from tipping over in a pan. The classic shape of the basin allows easy release of the pudding after steaming, giving a pudding its distinct shape.

The Innovative Kitchen Grip Stand Mixing Bowl tilts to make mixing on countertops easier while allowing more air to be incorporated into mixes when whisking.

The Juicer and Store can be used to juice citrus fruits and store either the juice or fruit halves in.

The set of three Cake Tins nest inside each other, sit snugly on top of one another and allow cakes to be presented and cut on the shallow, elevated base.

How the RSPCA helps animals every year.

RSPCA employs over 340 inspectors to investigate more than 130,000 complaints of cruelty and neglect every year. The charity has a network of 162 branches throughout England and Wales and an extensive international network too working with other animal welfare organisations. At four hospitals and five clinics, the RSPCA treat pets in need of preventative medicine or welfare treatments. Each year the RSPCA receives over 1,000,000 calls - in 2018 it rescued over 102,000 animals and rehomed over 40,000. It successfully secured 1,678 convictions, protecting animals against those who break the law. RSPCA is a charity registered in England and Wales and only exists because of public donations.
