Mason Cash originated in a pottery operating at Church Gresley in the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. The pottery became world-renowned for producing kitchen items made from their distinct ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware. The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was William ‘Bossy’ Mason. During the 1800’s the pottery was named after him, and when Tom Cash acquired it in 1901, he renamed it Mason Cash & Co. Although Mason Cash had produced mixing bowls during the 1800s, in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash mixing bowl. The bowl’s design has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today.

O R I G I N A L C A N E Mixing Bowls

The sizes of Mason Cash Mixing Bowls were used historically to refer to how many could fit on a shelf in a kiln when manufacturing. There’s a bowl size to suit any task. The size 4 is designed for large batches of dough, whereas a size 24 is ideal for cookie dough. The size 12 is a good all-rounder for bread, pastry or cake mixes.

The Garlic Store, with grater lid, has air vents for keeping garlic fresher for longer and the lid incorporates a grater for garlic or ginger.
