Mason Cash ® originated in a pottery factory operating in the village of Church Gresley, at the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. The pottery became world renowned for producing kitchen items made from their distinct ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware. The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was William ‘Bossy’ Mason. During the 1800s the pottery was named after him, and when Tom Cash acquired it in 1901, he renamed it Mason Cash & Co. Although Mason Cash ® had produced mixing bowls during the 1800s, in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash ® Mixing Bowl. The bowl’s design has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today. 200 Years in the baking.

Great British Design Icon.

First developed in 1901, Mason Cash ® Mixing Bowls are made from earthenware making them heavy enough to stand when mixing, yet light enough to hold comfortably in one arm. The distinct patterned exterior and rim of the bowl is designed to help bakers grip and tip the bowl and has become synonymous with the brand and baking ever since. The wide, shallow shape also allows for kneading within the bowl if required.

The bowls are as relevant today as they were in 1901 and have endured the test of time to become something of a design classic.

COLLECTION Pudding Basins & Food Prep

Mason Cash ® have been manufacturing pudding basins since the early 1800s and have pioneered the shape and sizes of pudding basins all over the world. The basins come in seven sizes and have become a staple in kitchens as preparation and serving bowls. The pestle & mortar features a logo derived from Mason Cash ® in the early 1920’s and is great for mashing and grinding ingredients. The Acacia chopping boards also boast the heritage inspired logo and feature a handy hanging hole, making light work of storing away when not in use.

KEY DESIGN FEATURES A pudding must be sealed before steaming. The rim of the Mason Cash ® Pudding Basin is shaped for this purpose. The vented base of the pudding basin allows bubbles to escape from underneath the basin, preventing it from tipping over in a pan. The classic shape of the basin allows easy release of the pudding after steaming, giving a pudding its distinct shape.
