BREAD: You’d be forgiven for thinking that a bread knife is only effective at slicing through bread, but the serrated blade also makes light work of fruit and vegetables such as tomatoes.
SANTOKU: Originating from Japan, a Santoku knife is one that is specifically designed to slice fresh meat or fish. The scalloped edge creates air pockets between the blade and the meat, reducing friction and allowing for much thinner slices. CARVING: The narrow carving blade allows for precise cuts of meat giving you full control over your roasts, and also allows you to fillet large pieces of fish.
CHEF: The multi-purpose chef’s knife is designed to perform admirably at a variety of kitchen tasks, rather than excel at any one in particular.
UTILITY: An all-round versatile smaller knife suitable for chopping and slicing fruit and veg and smaller cuts of meat.
