Ravenhead The Ravenhead glass factory was founded in 1842 in St Helens, England by Frances Dixon. The family run business expanded rapidly and was passed down from father to son for three generations. Primarily producing bottles, Ravenhead branched out into domestic tableware such as bowls, jugs and drinking glasses in the 1930s. Between 1960 and 1990, it designed many iconic glasses for the bar and catering industry. Single-handedly changing the perception of glass from a functional item, to a fashionable statement for the kitchen and home, Ravenhead continues to pioneer solutions within the glasswares industry. High profile designers such as Alexander Hardie Williamson shaped the Ravenhead range, producing iconic designs which are still well recognised today.
