Mason Cash ® originated in a pottery factory operating in the village of Church Gresley, at the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. The pottery became world renowned for producing kitchen items made from their distinct ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware. The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was William ‘Bossy’ Mason. During the 1800s the pottery was named after him, and when Tom Cash acquired it in 1901, he renamed it Mason Cash & Co. Although Mason Cash ® had produced mixing bowls during the 1800s, in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash ® Mixing Bowl. The bowl’s design has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today. 200 Years in the baking.

First developed in 1901, the Mason Cash ® Mixing Bowls feature a patterned embossed exterior designed to help bakers grip and tip the bowl easily when mixing. This distinct pattern has become synonymous with the brand and baking ever since. The wide, shallow shape also allows for kneading within the bowl if required.

The bowls are as relevant today as they were in 1901 and have endured the test of time to become something of a design classic.

COLLECTION Pudding Basins & Food Prep

Mason Cash ® have been manufacturing pudding basins since the early 1800s and have pioneered the shape and sizes of pudding basins all over the world. The basins come in six sizes and have become a staple in kitchens as preparation and serving bowls.

The pestle & mortar features a logo derived from Mason Cash ® in the early 1920’s and is great for mashing and grinding ingredients.

KEY DESIGN FEATURES A pudding must be sealed before steaming. The rim of the Mason Cash ® Pudding Basin is shaped for this purpose. The vented base of the pudding basin allows bubbles to escape from underneath the basin, preventing it from tipping over in a pan. The classic shape of the basin allows easy release of the pudding after steaming, giving a pudding its distinct shape.
