Product Catalogue Autumn / Winter 2024

1842 Ravenhead®, primarily producing glass bottles, is founded by Frances Dixon in St Helens, an area renowned for its glass making.

1870-1871 During the Franco German War, the demand for bottles was considerable and the company sold every bottle it made including all the ‘seconds’.

Founded in 1842, Ravenhead ® Glassware was primarily a bottle maker until the company began branching out into tableware in the 1930s. It was during this era that Ravenhead® developed some long-lasting partnerships with iconic brands such as Elizabeth Arden. Ravenhead’s first decorating machine produced the cosmetics leader’s world-famous white cream jar and was then used to decorate a variety of pots, jars and bottles. Between 1947 and 1974, Ravenhead® created over 1700 new designs which were produced in their millions for public houses and restaurants. The designs included the Paris Goblet, Dimpled Beer Mug and the Babycham style glass. In the 1970s, Ravenhead® was the largest maker of table glass in the UK and was exporting to over 100 countries, producing 200 million glasses per year. Thanks to Ravenhead’s first TV advertising campaign in 1972, its popularity grew and items such as the best-selling White Fire range were commonly requested as wedding gifts and remarkable sales followed. Thanks to its foundations Ravenhead® has built an international reputation for high quality glassware that combines strength and durability. Today we offer exceptional glassware across our value, mid-level and premium ranges.

1903 Ravenhead® is the first glass bottle company to install a LEHR (a temperature controlled kiln).

1930s Ravenhead® branched out into domestic tableware such as bowls, jugs and drinking glasses. The introduction of their first decorating machine also allowed them to brand
